Finish week-long jobs in just hours:Case Study at Kaiser Print

Introduction Story | Finding a New Way to Boost Efficiency and Quality

Based in Brno, Czech Republic, Kaiser Print expanded its business during the COVID-19 pandemic by distributing hygiene products such as disinfectants and masks. As its business grew, they decided to bring packaging production in-house, building a flexible system that allows it to efficiently handle small-lot production. Today, Kaiser Print offers a wide range of household products.

In the past, they relied solely on an automatic paper feed cutting plotter for their packaging production. However, processing each sheet took a significant amount of time, creating major challenges in terms of production efficiency. For example, when an order for around 2,000 boxes came in, the job took nearly one week to complete, requiring staff to dedicate most of their working hours to that single task. Outsourcing the job to a third-party finishing company was not a practical option due to the relatively large minimum order quantity required. As a result, improving production efficiency while keeping consistent quality became a serious issue for the company.

It was during this research for a solution that Kaiser Print discovered UCHIDA’s automatic die-cutting machine, the AeroDieCut.

Effect of Implementation | Significant Reduction in Processing Time and Stable Production

Since introducing the AeroDieCut, they have been using it to process packaging for daily goods such as sponges and laundry perfume. Many of those packages are made of laminated sheets. The AeroDieCut can automatically feed and finish laminated sheets consistently, so they are now able to produce thousands of packages with minimal human intervention.

With their previous cutting plotter, paper jams and misalignments occurred frequently, each requiring time-consuming adjustments. This was particularly problematic for windowed boxes, which require multiple steps: first cutting out the window, then passing the sheet through a laminator, and finally cutting the box into its final shape. Any issue during these steps could significantly reduce overall productivity.

Now, operators simply load the required sheets and press the start button, allowing for consistent cuts and greatly reducing wasted effort. One operator commented,

“I’m satisfied that the cutting can be completed in just a few hours. that used to take days with the previous cutting method.”

Feedback from Users|Anyone Can Use with Confidence Thanks to Its Ease of Operation

The operators at Kaiser Print say,

“The setup is simple and it’s enjoyable to use.”

AeroDieCut is highly valued for allowing safe operation without requiring complex procedures or specialized knowledge. Compared to a cutting plotter, it can reliably create crease lines, ensuring smooth downstream folding and gluing processes—one of the key benefits of using a platen die-cutting system.

This not only reduces the workload for individual operators but also creates an environment where the entire team can collaboratively support production. With the installation of the AeroDieCut, kaiser print has successfully achieved both higher production efficiency and improved packaging quality. They have also set up a system capable of flexibly handling fluctuations in order quantity, further enhancing overall efficiency.
