Create Your Original Greeting Cards - UCHIDA Print Finishing Workflow -

Greeting cards are a thoughtful way to share messages with the people who matter most. To create a card from design to completion, it goes through multiple printing and finishing steps. This article presents the greeting card production workflow using UCHIDA’s finishing solutions, step by step.

Workflow for Creating a Greeting Card

Step 1: Printing (Offset & Digital)

  • The main image is printed with an offset printer, while personalized elements—such as the recipient’s name or date—are added with a digital printer for flexible customization.
  • Additional K-100 toner can be printed with a digital printer to prepare the sheet for the foiling process in the next step.

Step 2: Foilglazer II

  • Performs both over-toner foiling and lamination in one unit.
  • Foil adheres directly to toners, making foil fusing possible without tools such as metal dies, glue, or varnish.

Step 3: AeroDieCut

  • Cuts, creases, and perforates sheets in a single pass using a traditional platen die.
  • Ideal for small-lot, multi-variety production, the AeroDieCut enables fast and flexible finishing of prints, exactly when and in the amount needed.

*Waste Separator (Optional)

  • Automates the stripping process previously done manually, reducing workload and improving overall efficiency.

Step 4: Countron AT Touch

  • Accurately counts printed sheets and finished products, supporting smooth and reliable production management.
  • Its special mechanism prevents curling, making it suitable for thicker outputs such as greeting cards.

Step 5: Tapit Series

  • Bands the finished products for convenient handling, storage and delivery.
  • With the optional small-item guide, even small cards can be securely and neatly banded.

UCHIDA provides a wide range of finishing solutions designed to efficiently transform your ideas into final products.
