AeroDieCut's New Application: Pen Holder Made from biodegradable PLA Sheet

Have you seen the AeroDieCut application showcased at Drupa 2024 and other trade shows? One of the standout applications is the "Pen Holder made from PLA sheet." This product is cut from SRA3 to A4 size and can be distributed as a sheet and is easy to assemble. This is an ideal application as a promotional giveaway and merchandise for local sports teams. This application was developed in collaboration with Daido Shiko Co., Ltd., a leading printing company based in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, specialising in printing on plastic films. You can learn more about their work on their official website: Daido Shiko.

PLA Sheet: An Eco-Friendly Alternative
While the pen holder may look like it’s made from PET film at first glance, it is actually made from a biodegradable PLA (Polylactic Acid) sheet, an environmentally friendly material.
The PLA sheet used in this application was developed by Daido Shiko Co., Ltd. It is a 100% PLA film, making it an eco-conscious choice for sustainable production. For more details on the PLA sheet, please visit their website: Daido Shiko PLA Products.
PLA sheet is relatively harder than PET, making it more challenging to cut with cutting plotters.
AeroDieCut is capable of cutting the PLA sheet in short-run.  At Drupa 2024, we showcased PLA sheets with a thickness of 0.3mm, and through further testing, we’ve confirmed that sheets up to 0.4mm in thickness can be processed without issue.

AeroDieCut: Not Just for Paper
Thus, you may be able to add even more value to your application by choosing other materials than paper.
